TOURNAMENT RULES:
The Most Important Rules:
Be honest, enjoy the day, and HAVE FUN! This is a charity golf tournament, you're with friends and family, and the afternoon is going to be a great day. Sure, we all want to win, but remember we are all here to have fun on one of the most beautiful golf courses in New England.

Section 1 - Format
-
The tournament will be played in a SCRAMBLE FORMAT, where all four team members take each shot, and the team decides which of those four shots they will continue to play from.
-
Team members whose shot is not being used will pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the chosen tee shot. This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should be marked on the putting green.
-
Putts need to be made within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score.
-
If the ball you choose to play is in the rough, a hazard (sand, water, etc.), or out of bounds, you can not drop the ball outside of the hazard or rough even if relief is within one club length away.
-
If the ball you choose to play is out of bounds or in the water, a one stroke penalty will be added to the team score.
-
Teams that are only 3-golfers may rotate a player each hole to act as the fourth player, meaning that they will take two tee shots, and two shots from each subsequent locations. Golfers must rotate, so that each golfer gets the extra shots on six holes only.
-
Team that have only 2-golfers may be paired with other small groups.

Section 2 - Teeing Off
-
Each team must use a minimum of two tee shots, per player, throughout the round.
-
Men tee off from the WHITE TEES and women from the RED TEES.

Section 3 - Scoring & Mulligans
-
A single, team score must be submitted at the end of the round.
-
Double Par is the maximum team score on any hole. Teams that reach a score of double bogey on a hole are to pick-up and move on to the next tee.
-
Each player may buy mulligans for $5 each, which will allow them to retake their own shot.
-
Mulligans are purchased on a per-player, per-stroke basis. The entire team does not retake all of their shots.
-
There are no refunds on mulligans - you must use them or lose them.
-
Mulligans used must be marked on the score card by adding an "M" to the player's and/or team score for that hole.

Section 4 - Playoff
-
At the end of 18 holes, if two or more teams have the same, lowest score, a playoff hole will be played on the 1st hole.
-
The team with the lowest score after that hole will win the tournament. If teams tie score on the hole, then they will continue playing on to the next hole.
-
If more than two teams are in the playoff, teams will be eliminated on a per-hole basis. For example if Team 1 shoots 5 and Team 2 shoots 5, while Team 3 shoots 6 on the playoff, only Teams 1 & 2 shall advance to the next hole.
-
There are a maximum of three playoff holes. If teams are still tied after three holes, they will return to the clubhouse, and have a putt off, where each player will take a very long putt, and the closest to the hole will win. If any putts are equal distance to the pin, those players only will re-putt for the championship.

Section 5 - Other General Rules, Pace of Play & Etiquette
-
Balls may be cleaned on the green, and ball marks repaired prior to putting. You may not repair spike marks prior to putting.
-
Do not play until the players in front of you are out of range.
-
Leave the putting green as soon as you have holed out.
-
No taking extra shots - mulligans can be purchased, but extra shots do nothing but cheat everyone and slow down the pace of play.
-
Please keep the course beautiful - smooth marks made in sand bunkers, replace divots, etc.
-
At the conclusion of playing 18 holes, regardless of where the final hole is played, the team will proceed immediately to the clubhouse to log their score. "Playing out" holes is prohibited per our agreement with the golf course, and you might miss out on getting your score in on time!
